Assistant Professor
Dr Akbilgic received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Istanbul University in 2001, Master degree in Statistics from Mimar Sinan University in 2005, and Doctorate degree in Quantitative Methods from Istanbul University, Turkey in 2012. He worked at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN and University of Calgary, Canada as a postdoctoral research associate between 2012-2015. He has been working for UTHSC-ORNL Center for Biomedical Informatics, Memphis, TN since April 2015. His expertise in biomedical informatics ranges in Predictive Modeling, Data Mining, Neural Networks, Statistics, Classification, Prediction, and Clustering.
Member: Ibrahim Karabayir, PhD
Ibrahim Karabayir received the B.S. degree in mathematics from Ataturk University, Erzurum, Turkey, in 2008, the M.S. degree in mathematics from Kilis 7 Aralik-Gaziantep University, Gaziantep, Turkey, in 2014, and the Ph.D. degree in numerical methods from Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2018. His current research interests include machine learning, deep learning, optimization and image analysis.
Former Member: Ruhi Mahajan, Phd (now Data Scientist at Zywie Inc.)
Dr. Mahajan received her doctorate degree on Electric and Electronic Engineering from university of Memphis, TM. Her research interest includes biomedical signal processing, algorithm development, and designing wearable body sensor networks for routine patient monitoring.
